GO Westmoreland Transportation Services
GO Westmoreland is a shared-ride transportation service available to residents in Westmoreland County. Shared-Ride means that riders will be sharing the vehicle with other passengers, and may not be taken directly from their origin to their destination in order to accommodate the needs of all passengers. Shared-ride transportation, sometimes also referred to as paratransit, operates during limited hours and has a set service area where travel is possible. Before using this service, riders must apply in advance for a service program. A reservation is required to take a trip.

The different programs listed above are available depending upon a person’s qualifying background. Some programs may require a different co-pay and service delivery guidelines. All riders must pre-register before reserving a trip. To pre-register, riders must complete an application to identify which program they will qualify for to assist with funding.If you're unsure what program you may qualify for, call our Reservationists for help. GO Westmoreland days and hours of service are as follows:

Monday - Friday 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM
Saturday 7:00 AM until 4:00 PM
GO Westmoreland does not provide service on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
The GO Westmoreland service area includes all of Westmoreland County and a 5 mile “buffer zone” around the county. You can travel as far as you want, and whenever you want within this service area.
Travel to Pittsburgh
An exception to the service area is available for trips to Pittsburgh. Travel to the Pittsburgh area is limited. Travel to the Pittsburgh area is permitted Monday through Friday, with an arrival time of 9:00 AM and a departure time of 2:00 PM.
Trips to Pittsburgh will be grouped together and may result in extended travel times in order to accommodate other riders. If a requested trip cannot be grouped with another rider(s), the trip may be cancelled. Because of this, it is very important that you call our office as early as you can to schedule any trips to Pittsburgh.
Scheduling a Trip
All regular paratransit trips require advance reservation. You may schedule a trip as far ahead as two weeks in advance. The latest that you can call to arrange a ride for the next day is at least one business day in advance before 12:00 PM. For trips on Saturday or Monday, the latest you can call to arrange a ride is Friday before 12:00 PM.
There is a 30-minute pick-up window that begins 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time and ends 15 minutes after your scheduled time. (Example: if your pick-up time is 9:00 AM; your window is 8:45 AM to 9:15 AM) We ask that you please be ready and watch for your vehicle at the agreed pick-up location during this window.
To assist all passengers to get to their appointments in a timely fashion, we ask that passengers be ready to board the vehicle when GO Westmoreland arrives. Once the vehicle arrives within the pick-up window at the scheduled location, drivers will only wait 5 minutes until they depart.

Rider Code of Conduct
GO Westmoreland reserves the right to suspend your transportation services. The following behaviors will not be tolerated:
- Loud, boisterous and/or obscene or offensive language;
- Disruptive behavior or any behavior that jeopardizes the safety of any occupant of the vehicle;
- Being under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances;
- Violations of moving vehicle safety requirements or leaving the vehicle be-fore the designated drop-off point;
- Implied threats or physical action, either verbal or with weapons, toward other passengers, drivers, or administrative staff; and,
- Property damage or threat of damage to the vehicle and/or equipment.
