Free Fare Program
The Senior Free Transit Program is made possible through funding by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The program offers free public bus transportation for senior citizens ages 65 and over on all routes at all times.
To obtain a Senior Transit ID Card, an individual should apply in person at the Transit Center in downtown Greensburg. Proper identification showing proof of age must be presented at the time of application. Acceptable forms of identification include: Driver’s License, PA Identification Card, Birth Certificate, Baptismal Certificate, Passport, Military Discharge Papers, or PACE Prescription Card. Individuals may also ride the bus for free to the Transit Center to obtain their card by showing a photo ID that verifies identity and age to the bus operator (i.e. Driver’s License, PA Identification Card). Individuals unable to travel to the Transit Center may either download the application below or request that an application be mailed by calling 724-834-9282. The completed application along with a copy of one of the above forms of identification may be mailed to Westmoreland Transit, 41 Bell Way, Greensburg, PA 15601.
